Give Businesses a Chance

Businesses most often find they are in violation of ADA regulations when they receive notice that they are being sued for denying access to their goods and services by a disabled person. Many of these lawsuits are filed by a few people who sue many businesses across the country. Sometimes it is suspected that the person didn’t actually try to access the businesses goods and services. Many cases are just legal extortion hoping to get the business to pay $10-15000 to get the lawsuit dismissed without regard to removing actual barriers. Most often small businesses are targeted because they don’t have the resources to fight a lawsuit. Often some of the claims against the business are false.

Some people believe lawsuits should be a last resort after communicating with the business owner to try to get the issue resolved. https://www.craigdailypress.com/news/mark-hillman-lawsuits-should-be-last-resort-in-march-for-disabled-access/
